Details

The two-buckle boot that changed the park — now Gen 2.

Phaenom's hybrid cabrio/overlap shell splits the difference between a three-piece and a traditional overlap: the wrap, edge feel and power transfer of an overlap cuff, with the smooth progressive flex of a cabrio. Two buckles. Zero rivets. Made in Italy.

The 02 generation adds a temperature-stable TPU+ shell, a reshaped lower-shell opening with a higher instep for a better out-of-the-box fit, and—finally—colorways beyond all black.

Pick your flex

Model Best for Liner Weight
130 · Black Expert. Charging hardpack, crud and big landings. Stiffest, most direct. fs 02 with GridSkin™ 1900g
110 · Cornstalk The all-rounder. Advanced skiers who want park feel with all-mountain range. fs 02 with GridSkin™ 1900g
90 · Desert Sage Intermediates and younger riders stepping into freeski. Forgiving and comfortable. fs 02 a with PillowFoam™ 1855g

All three share the same 100mm last and the same shell architecture — you are choosing stiffness and color, not a different boot.

Every fs 02 comes with

  • Adjustable forward lean — three flip chips for 13°, 15° (factory) and 17°. Swap by hand, no tools drama.
  • Phaenom Strap — single-material power strap that actually rebounds. Shock absorption and flex control in one piece.
  • GripWalk soles — ISO 23223 rockered soles, removable and replaceable.
  • Interchangeable spoilers — dial in calf hold and lean.
  • Easy Entry System — tongue leash and flap-to-tongue link so getting in is a non-event.
  • Right to repair — screws instead of rivets. Every part comes off and can be replaced.
  • Up to 30% recycled shell and liner content.
  • 2-year warranty.

Sizing

Phaenom runs in mondo point. Each size covers a full and a half (a 27/27.5 shell fits both). If you ski a lot, have a narrow foot, or want a quicker boot, size down.

From the shop

The 100mm last is a true medium — not a race fit, not a slipper. The mid-volume toe box is the friendliest part of this boot and the heel pocket is genuinely locked down, which is a rare combination. If you are between sizes and it is your first freeski boot, take the larger. If you are coming off a Full Tilt or an SPK, the 15° factory lean will feel close to home.

Boots are a fit decision before they are a spec decision. Come into Midway or Heber and let us shell-fit you — it is free, and it takes fifteen minutes.
